About Us

Who We Are

We’re a group of Taiwanese people who are passionate about sharing our home island with the world. Having backpacked through many countries, chatted with international visitors, and fielded countless questions about Taiwan, we’ve come to realise something important: Taiwan has extraordinary stories to tell, but they’re not reaching the people who’d most want to hear them.

We’re not professional tour operators or marketing specialists—we’re simply people who love Taiwan and have discovered, through our own travels, how to share it with others. We’ve experienced that moment when someone’s eyes light up hearing about Taiwan’s landscapes, or when a visitor stands amazed by historical sites they never knew existed. These conversations inspired us to create something more permanent: a resource that helps travellers discover the Taiwan we know and love.

Our Motivation

Taiwan deserves a place alongside Asia’s most celebrated destinations, and we’re determined to help it get there.

Here’s what we’ve noticed: whilst Japan and South Korea dominate Western travel plans for East Asia, Taiwan remains surprisingly undiscovered—not because it lacks appeal, but because it lacks visibility. Yet everyone who actually visits tells the same story. They rave about the safety, the food, the mountains, the night markets, the unexpected historical depth. They return home as passionate advocates, telling friends, “You have to go to Taiwan.”

The frustrating part? So much of what makes Taiwan special is nearly impossible to find online if you’re searching from abroad. Try looking for information about Taiwan’s beaches and you’ll find yourself reading about Thailand instead. The information gap isn’t just about quantity—it’s about the kind of contextual, practical knowledge that helps travellers understand not just what exists, but why it matters and how to experience it authentically.

We’ve watched Taiwan’s international profile grow significantly in recent years. Where once saying “I’m from Taiwan” might prompt confusion, now it sparks genuine interest. People want to discover Taiwan. They just need better resources to help them do it.

This is our moment. Taiwan’s visibility is rising, curiosity is building, and word-of-mouth recommendations are spreading. What’s needed now is comprehensive, accessible guidance that helps travellers move from vague interest to concrete plans—and then from plans to genuinely rewarding experiences.

We’re not interested in traditional tourism marketing or cookie-cutter itineraries. Instead, we want to offer something more valuable: the knowledge and context that helps you discover Taiwan on your own terms, following your own interests, creating your own stories. If we do this well, you’ll return home not just satisfied, but genuinely enthusiastic, sharing stories that inspire others to visit.

That’s how Taiwan becomes a destination of first choice rather than an afterthought—not through advertising campaigns, but through authentic experiences that travellers can’t help but share.

Our Principles

We Teach You How to Choose, Not What to Choose

Travel is personal, and we respect that. Our playbook focuses on equipping you with knowledge and criteria rather than prescribing specific choices. We explain the types of experiences available, what to look for when making decisions, and how to identify quality—then trust you to explore according to your own preferences and travel style.

We Provide Context and Reasoning

Understanding why something is special makes the experience infinitely richer. We don’t just tell you that something is worth your time—we explain its significance, its role in local life, and what makes it distinctive. We clarify who might find a particular experience rewarding and under what circumstances, helping you assess what’s relevant to your interests.

We Encourage Exploration and Discovery

The most memorable travel moments often come from curiosity rather than rigid itineraries. Our playbook aims to spark your interest in aspects of Taiwan you mightn’t have considered whilst giving you the confidence to venture beyond the obvious tourist circuits. Taiwan is wonderfully diverse, and we encourage you to follow your genuine interests rather than ticking off a prescribed list of attractions.

We Share Local Knowledge with Enthusiasm

This playbook draws on our lived experience as Taiwanese people who’ve also travelled extensively abroad. We know what it’s like to navigate an unfamiliar place, and we know which aspects of Taiwan consistently surprise and delight international visitors. We bring insider perspectives with the goal of inclusion—we want you to access the Taiwan that locals experience, not a sanitised tourist version.

We Aim for Lasting Impact Through Satisfaction

Our success isn’t measured in visitor numbers—it’s measured in the enthusiasm you feel when you think about your time here. We want Taiwan to give you experiences that feel uniquely valuable, stories you’re excited to share, and memories that stick with you long after you’ve returned home. That kind of authentic advocacy—traveller to traveller, friend to friend—is how Taiwan will take its rightful place alongside Asia’s most beloved destinations.
